Thinking of Decluttering?

Are you stuck or struggling because of clutter in your home?

If the answer is yes, you are not alone. Many people in today’s society find the amount of belongings they accumulate over time can cause them stress. Psychological research is now backing up what we know intuitively - that clutter has a negative impact on our well-being.¹ Untidy homes can leave us feeling anxious, helpless and overwhelmed.

Do any of the following symptoms sound familiar?

  • You are regularly frustrated by the time it takes to find things.
  • Your cupboards and drawers are overflowing (and sometimes you can’t remember what’s in them!)
  • There’s no room to display the things you truly treasure or new items you choose to buy.
  • You are unable to make the best use of storage spaces like built in cupboards, attics and sheds.
  • You feel overwhelmed when you think about the volume of your belongings.
  • You find it difficult to get things done when your stuff is occupying your attention, making it hard to focus and think clearly.
  • You find it hard to switch off and relax when your environment is telling you your work is not yet done.
  • You often feel drained or overloaded, craving more physical and mental space.
  • You find yourself arguing with family members about mess and clearing up.
  • You feel ashamed about how your home looks and reluctant to invite people in.
  • You feel guilty about your failed attempts to keep on top of everything, believing that you should be able to do it all (and online pictures of ideal living spaces only make it worse!)

All this can add up to make clutter a significant source of stress in our lives.

The good news is there are always choices.

You can choose to do nothing, stay in your comfort zone and settle for a less than ideal life, hoping that the clutter won’t continue to build up or that you will get round to tackling it ‘one day’. . .

Or you can find the courage to decide ‘enough is enough’ and commit to taking the necessary action to transform your home and your life.  I would be honoured if you would allow me to help you declutter and I can promise the benefits are worth every ounce of the time, money and energy you decide to invest.
